Getting mobility equipment - First Steps |
You should talk to your local occupational therapist or physiotherapist and/or your child’s doctor as they will have a good idea of how best to obtain the equipment specific to your needs. Then contact equipment suppliers. Remember to ask if they maintain the equipment, will buy back second hand at a later date and take the therapist if possible to make sure this equipment is suitable for the individual going to use it.

Car Stickers - Parking (NO PARKING FEE FOR HANDICAPPED PEOPLE)

All disabled people are exempt from paying parking fees in Dubai and Abu Dhabi as long as their vehicles carry stickers which can be obtained from the Dubai and Abu Dhabi Police. Many people drive cars but are unaware of the exemption. Many have been fined for various parking offences, but these have been cancelled. Disadvantaged people can use parking space without paying a fee provided that their car carries a sticker and the person driving the car is disabled. (The 'Gulf Today') |
