Since its inception in 2001, 'not for profit' Emirates Special Needs has rapidly become a unique and widely known resource for families and children with special needs across the UAE and the Middle East. It is widely known for education, support groups, medical professionals who work with people with special needs and now - 'not for profit' projects.

Jennifer King MBE MA RN(UK) was the founder of the Future Center Special Needs School and Rehabilitation Center along with Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan and the patron Mohammad Abdul Jalil Al Fahim in 2000. Jennifer was awarded the MBE by the Queen of England for the work that she did. This prestigious award was given to her for helping children and adults with disabilities in the UAE.

Jennifer continues to raise funds to bring in war torn victims from Afganistan and Iraq for free reconstrution.

In Dubai, Nov. 02nd, 2008, HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai announced that Dubai Cares would be launching a Volunteer Campaign.

A voluntary organiztion, Dubai Cares has reached over 4 million children, is building, renovating 2,072 schools, has trained 22,370 teachers and established 3,157 Parent-Teacher associations. This organization helps children around the world.
